M.E. Lewis Elementary School Comprehensive Site

CIS-Georgia

Communities In Schools works within the public school system, determining student needs and establishing relationships with local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers, and parent and volunteer organizations to provide needed resources.

Comprehensive Sites

A Communities In Schools Comprehensive Site provides two level of services for the school. The level of services is characterized by the needs of the school and its students.

  • Level 1 or school-wide CIS services are widely accessible to any student at the Communities In School site. They are short-term interventions that are provided or brokered in on an as-needed or as-available basis. Students need not be enrolled in a specific CIS initiative to receive the services.
  • Level 2 or focused case management services are directed to students with specific needs. The services are designed to assist the student with improve grades, attendance and/or behavior. Students receiving these services meet on a weekly basis with a site coordinator.

★ M. E. Lewis Elementary School – Since 2013, M. E. Lewis has been a Comprehensive Site. Each year the students at M. E. Lewis receive a variety of services brokered in to the entire student body. A minimum of forty students are case managed annually.
